As you would go to a pharmacist to by your medicine, or an estate agent to buy or sell your house, it is safe to say that you should also visit a business broker if you are serious about selling your business.

Helen Melon Properties has identified that there is a need for a professional business broker to negotiate business sales in the Garden Route area and to offer this extended service to our clients. We are happy to announce that Lee Caldecott, an experienced business broker is now part of the Helen Melon Properties team. Lee specialises in assisting businesses to achieve maximum financial results.

Lee has been involved in the hospitality industry from the day he wrote his final matric exam. Trained as a chef initially and then attending and graduating from Wits Hotel School he entered the hotel industry, managing hotels for Holiday Inn and the Southern Sun for 12 years.

After leaving the group he opened three restaurants/coffee shops in Port Elizabeth from which he established the very successful Dulce Café brand.

As a partner and co-director of the group for 15 years he designed and built over 100 franchised restaurants in South Africa and abroad, giving him vast experience in set up, operations, financial controls and most importantly an acute understanding of finding good operator-franchisees for the franchised restaurant industry.

After passing on his skills to a young dynamic Dulcé team, he aligned himself with business broking consultants where his knowledge of the Franchise Industry assists brokering new buyers and sellers alike with in the industry and beyond.

Lee recently relocated to Plett to centralise his operation on the Garden Route and is busy brokering the sale of many businesses in the area, both non franchised and franchised. Although he has specialised in the hospitality and fuel industries, his strengths lie in the financial understanding and operational side of all business today, which allows both sellers and buyers to be guided professionally to a successful conclusion in their deal.

In keeping with the ethos of Helen Melon Properties, Lee's primary goal is to ensure that the buyers of businesses are perfectly suited to the business in question and follows up with after sales care.
