Helen Melon Properties recognised by SEDA

Category What's Happening at Helen Melon

When Helen Melon Properties was launched back in 2013, Principal, Helen Ward knew she had an uphill battle to establish her company in the very niche Plettenberg Bay property market.

Helen came armed with her many years property experience and acumen, an astute business mind and determination to succeed. While her many satisfied clients are testimony to her success, it’s always nice to be recognised by your industry peers, and Helen Melon Properties received this recognition in the form of a nomination by SEDA (Small Enterprises Development Agency) as their Western Cape “business success story” for 2016. The company was chosen to represent the province at the 2016 SEDA Annual Stakeholders Forum held in Kimberley on 7 October 2016.

A Certificate of Recognition was awarded to Helen Melon Properties in recognition of their operational excellence and improvement in business performance. “It was an acknowledgement from our national office for exceptional growth and contribution to the local economy,” says Lianda Landman at SEDA.

Says Helen Ward, director of Helen Melon Properties. “This recognition is just reward for our hard work, and has contributed to a significant increase in sales and profitability as well as our increased staff compliment at Helen Melon Properties. We are very proud to have received this, and aim to continue our good work in the future.”

The Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) is an agency of the Department of Small Business Development and was established in December 2004.  Seda’s mission is to develop, support and promote small enterprises throughout the country, ensuring their growth and sustainability in co–ordination and partnership with various role players.

Helen Ward’s growing team is made up of Garden Route locals, who know and love the area that they work and live in. Their secret is to source well-priced properties with serious sellers, offering a professional service to both sellers and buyers.
